DECATUR COUNTY DEMOCRAT LADIES NEWSLETTER
We have had a busy time since Veterans Day.
Our Veterans Day program was very nice
with the speeches, 13 folds of the flag and with Cotton’s wit and wisdom.
In December we had our Awards Dinner
at The Diner in Decaturville. Several were presented with certificates, singing, readings, played Dirty Santa and a great meal.
January will be our first meeting of 2015.
I hope that in 2015, we will remember
what it means to be a Democrat. The Party was formed to have a voice for the people that did not have a voice in our government, the working man, and any one that was the average person. Big business was the ruler.
I hope that we can all work together to have a great year and get a lot accomplished.
We need young people; try and encourage any that are interested to come and joined us. We need to have programs for them that will teach them how important it is to be involved.
The Decatur County Ladies Democrat Newsletter for August 2015
The lady Democrats met for the August meeting at the new Mexican restaurant in Parsons. We had 6 present…not enough for a regular order meeting, but we had a good discussion.
I thank the ones that made the effort to come out.
We chose not to do the yard sale since there was not enough to help with it. If anyone would like to make a donation to the Shepard Fund in the name of the Democrat Ladies, we will set a date,
I will be glad to pick it up and carry it to them.
The president showed the awards that we won at the Convention and spoke on it.
The president also spoke on Insure Tennessee and read the resolutions that was voted on at the convention.
It is my wish that we can build our club back up, we need to all work together so we can get Democrats elected. The Decatur County Lady Democrats have been active a long time; we work hard to improve our county, party and state.
We support our candidates with work, money and any support that we are able to give to them. We support our President, our local people running for office with a donation and other ways.
We are trying to go to functions in the state that is very helpful to us in trying to help in the county. We hope to achieve many goals to make Tennessee a big Democratic state like it used to be. We all have a real job ahead of us.
